Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about how ToolPlank works, what happens to your text and how to reach me.

Yes. Every tool is free today, with no sign-up and no daily limit. The site may show ads to cover hosting and development time.

No. Open any tool and use it straight away. There are no accounts, no logins and no email sign-ups.

No. The tools run in your browser with JavaScript, so the text you type, paste or load from a file is processed on your own device. It isn't sent to our servers and we don't keep a copy. One thing worth knowing: software on your own computer, such as browser extensions or clipboard managers, can still see what you type, so clear the boxes on shared machines.

A domain, hosting and the time it takes to build tools all cost money. To cover that, the site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Ads are kept away from the input and output areas so you don't click one by accident.

Everything is listed on the Tools page and in the sidebar search. The collection is small but growing, and new tools are added regularly. If something you need is missing, tell me and it may be next.

Very little. Like any website, our hosting provider sees basic request details such as your IP address and browser, and if ads are shown, Google may set cookies. The Privacy Policy explains each of these in plain language.

ToolPlank is built and maintained by Waqas Ahmed, a software developer from Pakistan. Read more on the About page or get in touch directly.

Yes, please do. Send a short message through the Contact page. For a bug, the tool name, your browser and a sample input with nothing sensitive in it make the problem much easier to find.

The tools are tested against common and awkward inputs, but no tool is perfect. For anything that matters, such as production data, config files or customer information, check the result before you use it. The Disclaimer has the details.

Any current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on a computer, tablet or phone. The layout is built to work well on small screens too.

Browsers slow down badly when a text box holds hundreds of thousands of characters. Once your input passes 100,000 characters, the box shows a short preview instead of the full text. The whole input is still converted, and Copy and Download give you the complete result. The upper limit is 2,000,000 characters.

Yes. The result is generated from your own input, so it's yours to use however you like.
